PASADA RETREAT ITINERARY 4 – 10 AUGUST 2025

We are delighted to be your retreat hosts at Pasada.  Curious about what you are likely to experience?

Below is our proposed retreat itinerary.

If you have never retreated in Asia, we need to let you know up front. Sometimes circumstances change beyond anyone’s control – and when we least expect it.  Like the retreat space has a major electrical outage, or the weather comes in.  We will email a final itinerary 3 weeks before the retreat starts.  And promise to update you if anything happens the moment we know.

Finally, this is your retreat time – participate as little or as much as you want.

Now that caveats are out the road, get excited.  Here is what is in store for you:

MONDAY DAY 1

Inhouse chef at Halala Kanda with Bentley, co owner (L), and Jen (R)

We do recommend you arrive the day before your retreat.  There will be two vehicles leaving about midday, that will pick you up from your accommodation, and take you to your Pasada retreat.  It is about 2 hours on a highway (no more goat track roads down to Galle and beyond now).

Check in at your retreat node.  You will know before you arrive in Sri Lanka which one you are in.  Halala Kanda or Malabar Hill. Settle down, take a swim, or a nap.

Those staying at Malabar Hill will be chauffeured across to Halala Kanda (HK) in the afternoon for the welcome circle and orientation.  A light supper provided, with time to get to know each other and the staff at HK.

We say see ya tomorrow to our new retreat buddies, and settle in for the night at our respective spaces.

PS. You can bring alcohol into both venues.  It will be stored in the respective kitchen areas.

TUESDAY DAY 2

Jen setting up at Halala Kanda – our yin space for Day 2

Halala Kanda guests, rise and shine early to get across to Malabar Hill (MH), for 6 am sunrise meditation, morning flow yoga and the start of your breath work immersion.  Breakfast at MH, and then we all get to choose how to spend the day.  Massage?  Beach?  Explore Weligama? Or stay in your retreat space and enjoy the quiet.  Up to you.

In the early evening, we head to Halala Kanda (HK), for a dose of yin with Jen.  Hang around for a Sri Lankan dinner and mocktails. Take a tour of HK, have a moonlight swim if you wish.  Those staying at Malabar Hill chauffeured back around 8.30 pm. Earlier if you want.

WEDNESDAY DAY 3

One of the many cafes in Galle Fort historical district

Early rise for those at Malabar Hill (MH), as we head to Halala Kanda (HK) for sunrise meditation, morning flow and Day 2 of your breath work immersion with Lee. Breakfast at HK, after which we head to Galle Fort, known for its Dutch history, jewellery, textiles, and funky cafe. Jen and Lee have some special treats for you there.

Mid afternoon, we return from Galle Fort. Hang out in your retreat, get another massage, go on a walk in the area.  Up to you. Those lounging in HK will be chauffeured across to MH early evening, for yin yoga with Jen, and some yoga nidra. A set dinner at MH, vegetarian based, enjoy the views from the restaurant.

THURSDAY DAY 4

Another of the yoga spaces at Malabar Hill

Early rise for those at Halala Kanda (HK), over to Malabar Hill (MH), for sunrise meditation, flow and Day 3 of your breath work immersion with Lee. Breakfast at MH. Mid morning we start our Sri Lankan cooking class.  Lunchtime we eat it, yay!

The afternoon at your leisure. Some options include massage, swim, head down to the Beach Club, take a bike ride in the local area, explore the rainforest at MH.

Early evening, yin will be held at both MH and HK, Lee and Jen to guide separately.  You choose.  Dinner that night at your own choice.

FRIDAY DAY 5

Living space at Halala Kanda

Sunrise meditation, morning flow and breath work immersion with Lee at Halala Kanda (HK). Sri Lankan breakfast at HK.

Today, we visit Lunuganga, one of Bawa’s personal homes. We leave from HK. We check out the house and the gardens.  We return to our respective retreat nodes mid afternoon.

Yin and yoga nidra with Jen at HK early evening.  Pizza and outdoor cinema night at HK. Cool!

SATURDAY DAY 6

Sunrise meditation, flow and final day of breath work immersion at Malabar Hill (MH).  Breakfast at MH, and then you have the option of taking a Borala Lake tour and do some lotus picking.  The afternoon is at your leisure – perhaps some of you might need to return to Galle Fort and pick up booty.  Sunset yin and yoga nidra with Jen, dinner at Halala Kanda.

Jen at Halala Kanda

SUNDAY FINAL DAY

Last day of retreat.  Sunrise meditation, morning flow and your unique breath work to wake you up to go go session with Lee, at Halala Kanda. Breakfast and closing circle.  Hugs all round, time to check out from your retreat node.  Transport will be back to Colombo direct that day in time for flight connections out. Those who are staying on will need to arrange their own transport to their next great destination in Sri Lanka.
