From turbulence to tranquility, be like water

TOYA RETREAT 7 - 12 MARCH 2024

Water is the most expressive of our elements. It is considered one of the most sacred and powerful elements in the Hindu Balinese culture. Making holy water in Bali is called Toya (or tirtha).  Water can wash away earth, put out fire, yet the most peaceful element to be in or near.

Over the course of 6 days & 5 nights, we make toya with our water element, physically, emotionally, spiritually. Our traditional Balinese welcome ceremony and dinner opens our heart and minds to the spiritual use of water to bless and heal. You will take Balinese Melukat, a water cleansing ritual at a local temple.

During your time, plunge into an ice bath, relish the benefits of a daily sauna.  Get an in house massage, maybe more than one! Chill at one of the three pools at Basundari. All of this on site available all day.  Choose how little or how much you wish to immerse in your water element.

Yoga and meditation every morning, followed by a life affirming plant-based breakfast. See the sun go down with restorative yoga.  Play with Angelita as she brings you her joy in an arm balances workshop, or hang with Lee and learn options and mods for your everyday asana practice.  Book a free consultation with our in-house homeopath, Ashleigh – something come up while in yoga, meditation, the icebath?

Breath deep into a sound bath from one of Bali’s most esteemed sound healers. Maybe for the first time ever to ask yourself – what do I really want to do with my time when there is no other call on it?

Lose your concerns about the outside world, we are a technology free zone for Toya. No mobile phones, tablets allowed. Your opportunity to step back, to disconnect, so when you do reconnect 5 days later, you are tuned in more on how and with whom you choose to share your real and virtual energy.  And for Toya 2024, we will experience Nyepi, Mama Bali’s day of silence, which falls on the last full day of our retreat.  No travel, no wifi, no sound.  You must come and feel.

If checking out local culture or hitting the high spots in Ubud is your thang, the on site team at Basundari will help you.

Wanderingyogi retreats also have a surprise in them. So does this one.

Hosted by WanderingyogiLee and Angelita Yauretsi, AY Yoga.
